We have another Hour by Hour Challenge completed by the Alison Vrbas! Here is what she had to say about her experience!

“I used to stare at other photographer’s images and wonder, “how on earth do they get such amazing photos everywhere?” I’d think to myself, “it’s just too hard to lug all the snacks, diapers, kid stuff AND a huge camera with me everywhere.” Every now and then I’d venture out with my camera to take photos of my kids at one location, yet I’d never just tucked my camera in whatever giant bag I had with me UNTIL I read about the Hour by Hour Challenge by Holly Awwad. This is the kind of challenge I could latch onto. I mean, I tried a Project 365 for all of about two or three days when I gave up because I’m already in the midst of a one second a day video challenge. I’m not sure what exactly it was about Holly’s challenge that spoke to me and led me to believe I could do it, but it totally did. And, I did it. I woke up at 6:30ish and got my kids up with my camera in hand. Then the rest of our day unfolded as so: ”
6:30ish am: Got the kids out of bed.
7:30ish: Start the rainy walk/stroller ride to take my son to first grade
8:30ish Return home from a walk and catch a glimpse at my daughter who is always in motion. Like…she can’t slow down. No snuggles, barely any listening to stories. So opposite from my first born!
9:30ish Catch my 2.5 yr old reaching for something in the fridge. Feed her all the snacks before we take her to her co-op preschool.
10:30ish Drive in the rain to preschool.
11:30ish Sneak a peek at my daughter during my work day at her co-op pre school. She never plays with her own dolls, yet apparently plays with the ones at school.
12:30ish Fighting nap time so so hard, so instead of resting on her toddler bed, got her to “rest” on the couch.
1:30ish Gave up on nap time. Shared a sweet moment drinking Golden Milk together.
2:30ish Picked up brother from school. He’s been wearing his hat for his Halloween costume. I actually feel relieved when we get him because he entertains his sister so much and now I don’t have to be the sole entertainment! Ha!
3:30ish Car ride to a random last minute family adventure. Their dad is home early from work and so we decided to go out to play with my son’s new birthday presents; an RC car and a Star Wars drone.
4:30ish Still playing at the local RC car park. I just love the marker stains and chipped nail polish on their fingers.
5:30ish Ventured next door to the Botanic Gardens.
6:30ish Already finished a quick dinner, so calming down with a little “Meat Eaters” on tv. The “boys” in our house are sort of obsessed lately.
7:30ish Daughter is asleep, son is reading, and I’m ready for BookClub.
8:30ish Finally Beers & Book Club with friends!

“Technically I stayed up until 10 something, yet I figured I met the challenge by then. I absolutely loved this project and can’t wait to do it again. I’m currently thinking of doing at least one each month. I also am planning to switch up which day of the week I do it on as our routines vary each day. I highly recommend this project for anyone that has a case of the “I don’t have time for my photography” or “I’ve been in a photography rut lately”. It definitely helped stretch my creative eye as there were hours that seemed so basic and boring and I really had to think about what to capture. ”
