My session started out like any other session. The client inquired about the session, price and what is included. She stated she has followed me for quite some time and loves the originality of my images. Now, those are the clients I know are mine. To have someone interested in your work, for them to be more intrigued by your images and thoughts behind the images than for them to only see you as a robot behind a camera with a certain price range, those are my favorite clients. Those clients are the ones who inspire me. They are the ones who want to hear my thoughts and desire for my artistic touch. And she definitely wanted a “different” session, but she just didn’t know what.
I asked her several questions that will give me more information about her style and vision. After throwing around ideas of flowers, fields of weeds and lakes when I mentioned a colorful apple orchard session she just knew that was it! Her skin is light with blue eyes so I knew the red would just simply pop perfectly! I arranged for the session to be at a local orchard but when I called I was quite disappointed. “Our apples are green on the trees.”
Okay, plan B? I grabbed some red apples from the market, no one would know they didn’t come from right there in the orchard. We did several different fun poses with the apples, she even ate one, sessions make you hungry! At her reveal, she really fell in love with her images and was so thankful for being able to capture exactly what she wanted with a unique spin on her senior session.
