Description
in this course you’ll learn
Are you afraid of grain, high ISO, and uninspiring light? Then look no further, this is the course for you! Low light doesn’t have to be scary – it can be inspiring and full of life! I’m going to walk you through it step-by-step to get good images in low light situations.
In this course we will go into detail of what settings to use, how to expose your images properly, different types of light, and more! We’ll go over gear and how you can use your own, CURRENT gear to get the images you want. We will also talk a lot about grain; why you shouldn’t be afraid of it and even how to limit the amount of grain in low light images. We will dive head first into the darkness (but don’t worry, I’ve heard there’s cookies!!) and discover the endless possibilities in low light, including, but not limited to: natural light indoors, artificial light, and outdoor light. During the live runs, there will also be assignments to help push you past the fear of low light with feedback provided by Alyssa.

Meet Your Instructor
alyssa ahern
Hey there, my name is Alyssa Ahern. I started learning photography way before I got married and had kids. I would photograph plants and flowers, my dogs, my siblings, anything and everything. I knew one day I would want to capture my family and I wanted to learn before I had one. I’m so thankful for photography because it helps me show how I see the world. To me, the world is beautiful, it has its quirks, but then, so do I. I love to show how I view it. My brother once joked that I make things look better than they are in real life, to which I replied, “but that’s how I see them”. Photography is about showing the beauty, slowing down, and creating art. I’m a young mom to two littles, I’m married to my best friend, and I love capturing our lives together. My family is my everything. I enjoy slowing down and enjoying my time with them, all the while chasing them with my camera.
