Tell Us About Yourself!
I am a Venezuelan mother of 3 living in Chicago (for now) with my husband, 3 girls, and our one-eyed dog. I am also an introverted, enneagram #4, day-dreamer, looking for honest people/community where I feel welcome. As for many of us, this photography journey started with motherhood and was fueled by the need to capture those little everyday moments I didn’t want to forget. I took classes for 2 years at the Roberto Mata School of Photograph and there I fell in love with black and white images and documentary photography and felt the need for creating a graphic legacy of photographs to leave behind to my kids, some sort of love letters.
How Would You Describe Your Photography Style?
I would like to describe my creative style as documentary-ish. I feel more comfortable capturing life as it happens than directing and creating scenes.I love black and white, and if I could choose between B&W and color, I will choose B&W 90% of the times.
What Inspires You To Create?
Life as it happens, to create a legacy for my kids, will be my short answer. When I became a mother I started flirting with the idea of photographing my family, with time, I enrolled in photography classes and it has been a 10 years journey now. What I have discovered that what inspires me the most is how my kids try to live every moment to the fullest, and the contrasts with our physical time with them… is minuscule, yet its effects are colossal. What if I don’t have enough time with them? How are they going to remember how loved and happy they were? I wanted them to see in photographs all of the sweetness, the wonder, the joy, and the magic that came with their childhood.
What goals are you hoping to achieve as a Hello Artist?
To improve my photography, meet other photographers, and grow as an artist . Regarding my photography journey, at this moment I am trying to figure out what’s next for me and I think Hello Storyteller could be an excellent place to learn, receive feedback and redefine my voice and style as an artist.

Tell Us About Yourself!
My name is Pritha Ghoshal, I am originally from India, but have come to the USA for higher studies and have been living here since 2009. I have always loved photography, I was gifted by my dad a film point and shoot camera in high school, and I got a hand-me-down DSLR in 2010. I have been shooting landscape/travel photos since then. I started more of a regular day-to-day shooting once my kids were born, and I started delving into storytelling and documentary images. I still love landscape but now I have more ways to create every day and love pushing myself to learn and develop my skills further.
How Would You Describe Your Photography Style?
Mostly documentary, trying to keep the memories of the small easy-to-miss daily occurrences. I also love the grandness of the landscape images and the peace that comes with being in nature.
What Inspires You To Create?
I want to capture the beauty around me, whether it be in my children and their activities or in nature and landscapes. Documenting our lives, and our travels inspire me to create.
What goals are you hoping to achieve as a Hello Artist?
I would love to join this group of talented photographers to learn and grow more as a photographer and would also love to give back to the community as possible.
