Hey everyone! I am Sydney Kirkendall. I live in Southeast Texas with my loving husband and our 3 beautiful kids. My oldest daughter, Haven, was the reason I began my photography journey. I would fill my phone with pictures constantly, so my husband surprised me with a used Nikon d40. I shot in auto for several years until I really decided to learn more. I invested in better equipment and most importantly EDUCATION! Six years later, and here I am documenting all 3 of my babies everyday moments. I love to capture the mundane of life, and add creative twists to my images. I also shoot client work, mostly lifestyle newborn and fresh 48 sessions. (It’s a great way to cure that baby fever I will forever have.) If I could give two piece of advice to beginner photographers, it would be to invest in education and to shoot what you love. In my case, that is storytelling images.
My photography style is a mixture of documentary, lifestyle, and concept photography. My absolute favorite is documenting the mundane. I love to make those dull moments come to life with creative framing and editing.
My kids. My children are the reason I fell in love with photography. Of course I love getting the classic “look at the camera and smile” image, but lets face it, children don’t always cooperate. I love to capture images of them that I can one day look back on and remember the exact moments that took place in the picture.
I am hoping to inspire/be inspired by fellow photographers. I want to share my love for documentary/lifestyle photography by teaching others the fundamentals, like finding light, framing, and looking for objects/expressions that truly represents a storytelling image. I would eventually love to teach others about documenting their everyday life, fresh 48 sessions, and lifestyle newborn photography.
Hi! I’m Melinda! I have boxes and boxes of pictures that I took of my friends through high school and college. Just snapshots, since I honestly had no idea what I was doing. My parents paid for hundreds of rolls of film to be developed and for that I will forever be grateful. A few years into my marriage we invested in a Nikon DSLR, and my husband made me promise to take a community college course in photography. We then moved to Belgium. I took pictures and learned more to keep from getting bored. I grew to love interacting with families while taking pictures. I had two children, and used my hobby to get out of the house. We moved to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan – where I finally learned to love more than just backlight. I learned to use indoor light and shadows, and I learned to embrace midday light. I used my photography to deal with so many emotions. We moved again, this time to Dublin, Ireland, and I learned to truly incorporate my whole family in my work and to share our story and our love.
Lifestyle – almost documentary but not quite.
Sun, my family, travel.
I would love to write blogs and teach a workshop. I would also be willing to mentor or help out where I am able.
I’m Stacy Stambaugh and I live in Northern Virginia with my husband and two young boys. My love of photography started as a child and in college I took a couple intro to photography classes where I learned the basics of how to use a camera in manual mode but it wasn’t until I had my first son in 2013 that I really started picking up my camera regularly. I wanted to remember all the details and stages because he grew and changed so quickly. The following year in 2014 I started a part time photography business, photographing families and children, because I wanted to capture those same details for other families.
I love growing and learning as a photographer. I will read anything photography related and I love sharing what I know about photography with others!
Lifestyle family photography
Documenting the everyday and special moments with my family and documenting other families’ stories.
Continue to grow as an artist and share what I know and love about photography with other photographers.
Hi I am Holly, wife, stay at home mom to five children. In another life I was a oncology and critical care RN. I am a proud Pittsburgh,PA native and somehow I was transplanted here in Milton, Ga living our best life with our kids, 2 kittens (one more on the way), and our big fat pig Piper.
My love for photography started in HS first with film and then much later on with my last baby my husband bought me my first DSLR a Nikon D500. Since then I have changed to a Nikon D750 and a Nikon z6. My two girls are my musses and my boys play along for bribes..but secretly I know they all have fun with me 🙂
Light, light, light, is my driving force. That and a big beautiful sky with puffy clouds.
My goal is to leave behind a visual legacy that my children never felt forced to do but more so felt like they had a blast doing! I want to be remembered as the fun mom! So far I am doing a pretty good job with that. I am always looking to learn and grow. I think you can grow so much but helping others grow and that is my hope in this beautiful chaotic world of photography journey.

Light and leaving a visual legacy for my children.
I hope to inspire and teach others if given the opportunity. I hope to grow personally and professionally through helping/teaching others. I want to connect with other creatives.
