Tell Us About Yourself!
I’m a mother of two beautiful children, wife to an amazing husband. I love Autumn and the gorgeous colours and tones it brings (orange is one of my favourite colours). I’m addicted to Chai tea and I love being outside walking, hiking or doing some sort of exploring. I used to draw as a kid for my creative outlet, then in my late 20s and early 30s I did a bunch of cake decorating (think elaborate fondant covered, standing figure type cakes), and now my creative energy goes into taking photos. I love to bake but cooking is a chore. I try to be organized but fail most days because my mind always has something on the go and I forget to check in on my calendars. I’m a quiet introverted listener, so you won’t see me dancing on any reels any time soon, but my very small extroverted side comes out when I decide to change up my hair every time I get bored with it, which is often.
How Would You Describe Your Photography Style?
Documentary, colourful, fun, always evolving, punchy, simple yet sometimes experimental, all over the place
What Inspires You To Create?
My children, food, light, my drive to learn new things.
What goals are you hoping to achieve as a Hello Artist?
I’m always pushing myself out of my comfort zone to learn, or help others learn and I love being part of communities that do so. I hope to achieve even more growth in my work, learn from other Hello artists and challenge myself by joining to share my work with others.

Tell Us About Yourself!
My name is Deirdre and I’ve been working as a photographer for 10 years now. When I had my first child, I decided to do photography as a profession and it was the best decision I have made! Now that I have two daughters, there’s nothing I love more than watching them grow up and seeing their bond that keeps getting stronger. I love my work and getting to share my passion with so many people.
How Would You Describe Your Photography Style?
I would describe my creative style as being natural and dreamy. I love to use really soft and natural lighting that can create a really nice gentle dream like atmosphere to the images. I do many different styles of photography, but one thing that is consistent throughout my work is keeping things as natural as possible! I love to get creative with my shoots and set an atmosphere that makes it feel like my clients are the only people in the world and it’s all about them. I don’t like over-posed photographs and I always make sure that my clients feel as comfortable as possible and that they move, act, and look they way they most naturally do.
What Inspires You To Create?
Seeing my children grow up and change is my biggest inspiration to create. I absolutely love looking back on images of them through the years and seeing the little changes that I didn’t even realize were happening. Sharing this joy I feel when I see beautiful images of my own girls, is one of my favourite things about being a photographer.
What goals are you hoping to achieve as a Hello Artist?
I would love to share what I have learned in my 10 years of working as a photographer. Editing is something that can be very daunting and overwhelming so I would love to teach and advice other photographers on how they can develop their own editing style and become more confident in their work.

Tell Us About Yourself!
My friends call me Missy, my husband and my mom are the only ones who call me Melissa. I have 4 kids and am homeschooling my teenagers. I live outside of Philadelphia… a little out there and closer to Amish Country and all the farms. My family and I have been taking lots of cross country road trips this year, all six of us in a converted van. Its crazy and messy and wonderful and we are always up for the next adventure. I keep bees and chickens and like to garden.
How Would You Describe Your Photography Style?
I feel like I am leaning toward more high modality images and found scenes. While I wouldn’t call myself a documentary photographer I have been leaning more toward that style. I want to shoot things that move me, and show people how beautiful life really is if you take a minute to stop and look around. Love The Artist Way quote “The capacity for delight is the gift of paying attention.”
What Inspires You To Create?
The things that inspire me the most is the search for artistry in ordinary days and beauty in the mess middle. My own thoughts and a quote I would like to put all over everything I put my hand to, “Your life is beautiful (just how it is), messy bits and all. There is a sacredness in ordinary days.”I need to remember this myself when days get hard, and I figure that other people do too.
What goals are you hoping to achieve as a Hello Artist?
Short term I would like to become more involved with this community. Long term I am looking into opportunities to teach, and eventually I would like to podcast.

What goals are you hoping to achieve as Hello Pro?
My goal as a Hello Pro is to become a mentor and teacher others. The HS community has helped me evolve as a photographer and I want to give back to the community that has helped me immensely. I know that we can sometimes be hard on ourselves (and our art) and I want to be that cheerleader for someone else, reminding them that they can achieve their dreams too. I also want to continue to grow my art. I love the variety of projects that are involved with HS, I feel like there is always an opportunity to learn more and do more.
In what ways are you involved in the Hello Storyteller community?
I recently have started an initiative to make “Big Tog | Little Tog” more widely know across the HS community. Along side another HS Creative, we are working on creating a monthly blog to feature our mentors and mentees. I feel like a huge perk of being a HS member is the opportunity to have a mentor and not a lot of community members are aware of this aspect. I support others that are currently working on their Hello Artist application. I also try to engage (as much as possible) on the HS facebook group and instagram accounts. I have done monthly instagram takeovers & enjoy participating in the HS creative projects. In addition, I have created content for the HS Member Perks and HS Blog.

What goals are you hoping to achieve as Hello Pro?
My goal is to teach creative photography techniques. I want to open the minds of photographers to non-traditional genres that can assist during creative rut and/or add something different to spice up their photography techniques. Over the past year my voice has come alive! Yes, I have a photography business capturing families, newborns, seniors; however my heart comes alive when I’m creating magical images all in camera!
In what ways are you involved in the Hello Storyteller community?
I’m pretty active on the Hello Story Teller FB page by commenting on other’s post and posting myself encouraging other to share their work.I am mentoring a fellow Hello Artist for the Big Tog/Little Tog program – Abi Coop.I was active on Slack until September hit, busy season is in full swing! Currently I’m pulling back from IG Loops so I can focus on work.I was a speaker on Clubhouse for HS. I participated in the seasonal mug loop.

What goals are you hoping to achieve as Hello Pro?
I would love to offer courses to teach in the community and mentor. I would also LOVE to work in the member community as I love to see so many of the HS members learn and grow and succeed with their goals. I would also be happy to continue to work in the Prep Group, again, to help those working towards Hello Artist to find success in their art.
In what ways are you involved in the Hello Storyteller community?
I try to post in the FB group and on the IG pages regularly. I have submitted multiple blog posts and done two perks now as well as two IG takeovers. I am happy to continue with these things as I really do like to write and create mini lessons to teach those who are aspiring to learn. I am also a moderator in the Prep Group and will offer feedback as I can. I love to watch and help people succeed with their goals too so it’s a pleasure to help in these ways.
