Wow! I can’t believe it is that time of year again already. Time to capture some back to school memories. Whether you have a child who is going back to class, participating in online learning,or homeschooling, document it! Whether your child is starting kindergarten or grade 12, every year is a special occasion.I am a grade one teacher, so my children as well as myself will be stepping back into the classroom. Back to school definitely feels different this time. It feels a little scary, and overwhelming with all of the unknowns. There is still lots of excitement
My kids can’t wait to go back!I myself, am excited to see and work with my colleagues again in person.
Your front step the morning of.
The front of the school.
The school’s playground.
At the bus stop.
Use props! (chalkboard, masks, backpack, pencil, apple, desk, sidewalk chalk, lunch kits, paper bag, books, globe, etc..).
Take a first day snap in a certain location, use that same location for a last day snap!
If you are homeschooling or participating in online learning, capture them at the table or at their work station. Think storytelling! Document them throughout their first day. When they first wake up, eating breakfast, getting ready, going out the door, when they get home. If you are homeschooling or participating in online learning, you can do the same. Shoot an hour by hour project for their first day!
Last year, I rented a school bus to take some back to school photos of my own children. This year I did the same, and I even ran some mini sessions. Here are some of my school bus pictures!
Whatever back to school looks like for you and your family, you will want to have the memory of this very different year to look back on.Wishing you all a happy and safe school year!
