“I was so excited when I received the traveling Lensbaby Sol 45. I have a few other Lensbaby lenses from the Composer Pro series and this was by far the easiest to figure out how to use as well as the most compact. The Sol 45 has retracting blades that you can put in front of the lens to change the bokeh effect. At first, I wasn’t so sure that I would enjoy it, but it did add an extra dimension to the images. ”

“I played with this lens both indoors and out in the yard; because it was a 45 mm I was able to use it in smaller spaces, which I was thankful for. It also allowed me to truly single out a subject as well as get two in the frame (although that was a bit trickier).

“As with all manual focus lenses you have to be a bit careful to get focus, but at the same time it is a great lens to allow you to embrace the imperfections that may occur.”

“The last day that I had the Sol 45, I tried it out on some outdoor self-portraits. It was the only day we really had strong sun, and I realized the flare was super fun and different than the other Lensbabys I have used in the past. The flare was gorgeous and it made me wish that we had more sunny mornings to play around with the lens and see what beautiful effects I could have made. ”

“I enjoy using Lensbaby lenses to give me a creative push, since to be honest shooting everyday around the house and yard can get a bit tiresome. This lens was fun to play with and I enjoyed the results that I got both indoors and out.”
Stay tuned for more Lensbaby adventures with the Sol 45, Burnside 35, Velvet 56 and Omni System as we travel with these amazing lenses!
Thanks for the inspiration! Love the pics!
