If you saw my blog post called “This was MY day“, you can see how I recently documented my day, hour-by-hour. I challenged each and every one of you to commit to 1 day and shooting at least 1 image per hour, each hour you are awake. The point is looking at the world around you in a new way and finding the beauty in your every day life. Documenting an authentic day-in-the-life isn’t as easy as it sounds… but it gets the creative juices flowing and really pushes you to see things differently.
Our first completed Hour-by-Hour Challenge was completed by Ally Watson of Ally Watson Photography, and I’m so excited to share it with you! Here is what she had to say about her experience!

“I always love to try and do any creative challenge I see like this, they are always so helpful in thinking outside the box. What I really liked about this challenge is it really made me slow down and take a long look around at my surroundings. Not just scan and take everything in but like really look and find something interesting or maybe not even that interesting but just SOMETHING. I also liked that I didn’t need to be perfect, I know as a “lifestyle” photographer I can get caught up in seeing something authentic but then trying to tweak it to get it exactly the way I think it will look best. Like stay right there kids and do that again but let me open this blind and move this stuff out of the way and all that. With this challenge I was more free to just document things exactly as they are. So thanks again for a great learning and growing opportunity.”
We want to start a regular feature to see how all of YOU spend your days! If you are interested in completing this challenge, and writing a few paragraphs about your day to go with your images, I’d love to feature you on the blog! Email your text and images (sized 2048px on the long end) to hellostorytellerblog@gmail.com!
Wow! You are so creative with capturing this images! I especially love the one of your dog with their nose pressed on the air vent!
They are all beautiful. It’s these day to day moments we want to remember! Thank you!!
