A beautiful article! I love details too but sometimes fight against shooting them because I have this idea in my head that I should be further away, including the environment etc etc but truly my hearts joy is in the details! Thank you so much for sharing ๐Ÿ˜

    • Bex Maini says:

Oh this is lovely, thank you and please go with your joy and shoot those details too! I actually print those for my frames as well as the wider shots of my kids. I love the little meaningful memories ๐Ÿ™‚

I loved this post! I know you expressed concern over not sounding ‘professional’ but I really enjoyed your candid narrative.
I adore seeing detailed shots but so often when I try to take these sort of shots I don’t get the focus right (too little or too much). I would love to know if you have a favourite lens/focal length/aperature you gravitate to when capturing details?
    Thanks again!

    • Bex Maini says:

Thank you so much Nicole, that means a lot ๐Ÿ™‚
I usually use my 35mm Sigma Art lens with a wide aperture so I sometimes get the DOF too shallow meaning I miss focus too but I just love the bokeh you can get if you nail it. I’m an over-shooter so usually find one that’s bang on ๐Ÿ˜‰
