Rut: “A habit or pattern of behavior that has become dull and unproductive but is hard to change.” We all have them right? Going through patterns of the up and down rollercoaster of inspiration is a sure sign of a talented creative. It can get you down when you feel uninspired and bored of your every day surroundings. One of my favorite lenses to break out of my bag when I’m feeling uninspired is my Lens Baby Sweet 35 Composer II.
There is a bit of a learning curve on this lens, but once you figure it out it is an amazing lens for the money! Like all of the Lens Babies you set both your aperture and focus manually. The Composer Pro II enables you to tilt your lens focal point shifting the focus from one area of the frame to another.
Below are three images showing shooting at an aperture of 2.8, 4, and 5.6 respectively. As you open up the aperture the blur intensifies creating almost a tilt shift or free lensing effect.
F 2.8
F 4.0
F 5.6
This lens is so small you can throw it in your purse for a fun walking lens. Close it all the way down for more focus or open it up for a dreamy creative effect.
I chose the Sweet 35 because I love shooting at this focal length, but these lenses come in all different focal lengths with many different effects. I do caution you not to get discouraged when you first try one out. It does take some time to get used to, but once you see all the dreaminess in your images, you will fall in love!
These are goreous, Ang!
